Forty By Forty

Part travelogue, part situational comedy, part old-fashioned adventure yarn, Forty By Forty maps out a list of tasks to be completed by the time a man reaches his fortieth birthday.
From the exotic ("Visit the Coliseum") to the ethereal ("Read Moby Dick"); the macho ("Fly a fighter plane") to the mundane ("Change a tire"), each task on the Forty By Forty list is a story onto itself.
Taken collectively, however, the list represents something even more compelling. A compendium of "I came; I conquered" adventures designed to stir the spirit and pique the wanderlust of men of all ages.

Exotic World examines the past, present and future of burlesque (a variety show characterized by broad ribald comedy, dancing, and striptease). Exotic World interviews older dancers who helped form the culture of what was once seen as the art of enticement in addition to the newer generation of dancers who see it as an expression of empowerment and performance art. Exotic World focuses on the personalities and ensuing stories of the remarkable women who inspired today's renaissance of this art form. Set against the backdrop of the Miss Exotic World Pageant, located at the "Mecca" of burlesque, the Exotic World Museum, viewers are treated to an in depth view of an essential facet of America's rich performance heritage.

Working Pictures, in association with Concentric Entertainment, produced and edited a behind-the-scenes look into the "big moment" of a major motion picture. Seen from the perspective of three behind the scenes players- an executive, a department head and a P.A., "Credits" takes a non-linear approach from three separate perspectives to what really goes into producing the "money shot" of any given major studio film.

Trippin'
status: pitch mode
click here to watch a clip
Everyone knows that there's more than one way to travel. Trippin' will send one male
and one female Traveler to the same selection of cities and popular destinations. The
show is a blend of lifestyle, travel, reality, and comedy within a contest format.
Lifestyle
The Travelers bring their own unique perspective to each destination. Men are from
Mars and women are from Venus is Trippin's departure point. Not only do men
and women approach the world differently, the world responds very differently, too.
Trippin' will use the sexual differences of our two Travelers to comic and informative
results.
Travel
Destinations are limitless for Trippin' . Our Travelers can explore any place on earth.
Since each of our teams will be traveling light ' talent, camera & director/producer
' the expenses will be kept to a minimum. The cost differentials between traveling
within the United States versus overseas can be budgeted. We can map out an
intriguing array of locations ' all affordable with a modest crew.
Reality
Lean and mean will be our logistical approach. This allows our talent to go anywhere
at anytime and interact spontaneously with anyone. The color and flavor of each
location can be captured immediately. We want our viewers to always feel that they
are along for the ride. If our Travelers encounter an unexpected moment we want the
viewer to feel that spontaneity. Foot loose and fancy free will be our mantra.
Comedy
Short of being arrested, we want our talent to be off the leash. We'll let them find
humor through any means necessary. The charm and humor of our Travelers will
coax the local characters and flavor from each location and situation with comic
results.
Contest
Before each excursion the Travelers will meet our Travel Boss, aka TB. He will sit
down with our Travelers and hand them a docket with information about where they
are headed. The Travelers will have no idea where they are going until they open the
dockets. Next TB will toss a coin to determine who will get to choose from two
possible budgets. One will be considerably higher than the other. One may decide to
choose the lower of the budgets because overcoming financial obstacles and still
having a great experience could be a clever tactic. Upon their return, TB will screen
their tape and grade the two Travelers on a scale from zero to ten. The judging
variables will be based on the experience valued against the budget allotted. This
rating system will be the deciding factor in who will win each episode and ultimately
win the season's contest. TB will be the judge and the jury. Whoever wins the
season's contest will get a first class trip to a location of their choice. The season will
close with this excursion being our final episode.
Trippin' will be a unique show encompassing many popular television categories. It
will be as entertaining and informative as it is funny and familiar.
Nothing Personal
Organized Crime's Greatest Hits
status: pitch mode
At the heart of every mob hit you'll find bad blood and a good story. That's the premise behind
Nothing Personal, a dramatic series of one-hour episodes that gives viewers "you are there"
access to organized crime's most infamous personalities and the intimate details of how they met
their untimely ends.
Hosted by Soprano's wiseguy, Vincent Pastore, Nothing Personal brings its audience along for
a chilling look into the minds and madness involved in history's greatest hit jobs.
Each episode recreates two famous hits from beginning to end -- from alleyways in the slums of
Chicago to family pizzerias in the heart of Sicily. Pastore opens each segment on the "scene of the
hit," giving viewers a bit of history on the players and the beef that led them to murder. Pastore then
steps straight into a dramatic reenactment that begins moments after the hit has taken place. He
interacts with the perpetrators, then fades into the background as the story is played out, beginning
to end.
Reenactors fill in the tawdry, scandalous and sometimes gory details, leaving viewers with a behind
the scenes look at a world where vendettas reign supreme and murder is the business of the day.
At the end of each segment, moments following the hit, Pastore is reintroduced. He steps out of
the shadows, back into the reenactment. Prefacing his close with a few words of wiseguy wisdom,
Pastore ends each segment with the catch-phrase "Hey, it was nothing personal."
Sample Hit "The City of Brotherly Love"
Angelo Bruno - (Philadelphia, 1980)
As the segment opens, Vincent Pastore strolls the streets of Philadelphia where, on March 21, 1980,
a single shotgun blast killed "the gentle don," 69-year-old Angelo Bruno as he sat in his parked car.
Pastore steps into the scene interacting with the assassins seconds after their hit.
The reenactment shifts to the meeting in Newark where then-capo of the North Jersey faction, Anthony
"Tony Bananas" Caponigro, first airs his complaint that "old man Bruno" is getting in the way
of new business - specifically drug business.
Spearheading the conspiracy, Caponigro assembles a group of supporters within the Philadelphia
family. The ambitious, emboldened Caponigro then solicits a Genovese family capo to help him
curry favor with the New York commission, whose "blessing" is the final piece of the puzzle. The reenactment
takes us through the planning and the logistics, right up to the shotgun blast that forever
changed the landscape of organized crime in "The City of Brotherly Love."
Sand Art
status: pitch mode
Each episode of Sand Art is an island-trekking trip across the Caribbean, (and perhaps,
eventually, the world) to experience the very best in island art, music and performance. Led
by a celebrity host, viewers will venture out from the bustling coasts of Cuba to the remote
shores of Martinique. At each island, our host will visit cultural sites, perform with local
musicians, participate in local festivities and stop by the homes of indigenous artists. Whether
it's learning the art of tan-singing in Guyana or taking part in the Curacoan "Dance of Resistance,"
our host takes viewers along for a once in a lifetime look into the most unique and most creative
of island cultures.
Sample Episode: The Cayman Islands
Our host arrives on Grand Cayman, the day before Batabano, Cayman's famed Carnival. Named
after the tracks left by nesting sea turtles, this island wide weekend festival brings together
people in song, dance, and all around celebration.
In the morning our host meets the Batabano performers and learns the history behind the
costumes and performances that will be featured in the next day's events. He joins his George
Town guide for a trip to the Harquail Theater (the site of beauty pageants, art and jewelry
displays, dance recitals and church concerts) and the National Gallery to see the latest local
exhibits.
After an authentic Caymanian meal, our host gets a one on one tutorial in the art of silver thatch
weaving and "gig" (wooden toys) making from Cayman Traditional Arts.
As night falls, our host joins a few of the locals fireside for Gimistory, the Cayman island's annual
storytelling festival, where local favourites Viriginia Foster and the duo of Aunt Sookie and Zekiel
regale children and adults alike with a menagerie of puppet animals, island tales and satire.
The next day, the island is bursting with energy as the first parade of Batabano proceeds and
our host gets a spot front and center. At days end, our host is treated to an impromptu jam
session with ex-pat island legend, The Barefoot Man. |
