Holy Meatballs
watch excerpt
Vinny Pastore goes on a quest across the country for the perfect meatball, one good enough to compare with his mother's sacred meatballs. He is determined, relentless and will remain critical along the way.
Judy Gold agrees to go along as long as Vinny allows her to prove that there are all kinds of comfort foods out there and that he should expand his horizon by keeping an open mind to other people's idea of that meal that simply makes you feel good.
This is an experiential show where our hosts travel and taste-test America's diverse culinary comforts.
The Ladies Of Rikers
watch promo
By day, they create delicate and feminine bridal headpieces and design lavish and sumptuous interiors for opulent homes. By night, they are locked inside Rikers Island, coming face to face with the dangerous criminals who make the psych ward their home. A typical day for these women could be choosing just the right exquisite hand made wedding tiara for Tiffany over a ladies' lunch and then narrowly escaping the clutches of a deranged naked inmate before dinner. In one day they trade the comfort of silk taffeta and Long Island for the stark reality of Riker's Island's iron bars and they will do it all over again tomorrow. It is all in a day's work for The Ladies Of Rikers Island.

Dick
A twisted tale of an elaborate con gone wrong, made even more surreal as it is based on the true story that rocked the Canadian justice system. Through a complex web of cons and deceit, Richard Jones aka "Dick," a pathological liar, offers to set-up a notorious Asian drug lord to the Canadian Mounties. Because of his cooperation with the authorities Dick ends up in the Witness Protection Program, where he commits murder. The Mounties get a lot more than just egg on their collective faces in a story that begs the question: just how could this happen? |
The Butterfly Girl
This is a story of loss and recovery: highly imaginative Emily has escaped into an elaborate fantasy world to deal with the loss of her father. Through fate and a little magic, Emily is able bring her grieving mother with her into her surreal parallel universe, bringing the grieving mother and daughter closer together and through the other side of their loss. An edgy modern fairy tale, Butterfly Girl is set in both a stark post 9/11 Manhattan and the unspoiled rustic beauty of Eastern Coastal Canada. |
