JB Carlin

Director Jb Carlin’s career began at age twelve. Born into the Detroit music scene and armed with a super 8mm camera, Jb would sneak around backstage and at various parties documenting some of the festivities taking place, often amid some of rock and rolls greatest legends.

After high school, Jb took his curiosity to Chicago where he studied film at Columbia College. After graduating, with the strong support of both the music scene and the advertising community, Jb has developed a reputation for having a unique style that combines stunning imagery, subtle concepts, and compelling performances with a deeper sense reality.

Jb’s roster of work already includes: U.S. Navy, Buick, Jeep, TNT, tbs, Chrysler, Dodge, Lincoln/Mercury, Chevy, Partnership for a Drug-Free America, Cingular Wireless, American Family Insurance, Comcast Cable, plus many more.

Jb's music video directing debut was Kid Rock’s infamous “Picture” music video featuring Sheryl Crow, which was nominated for Best Video at the 2004 CMT Music Awards and was #3 for the year on VH1 where it ran for an unprecedented seven consecutive weeks at the #1 spot.

Jb resides in both Detroit, MI and Venice, CA.
